We TD's would be happy to get some input from players concerning what they would like to see offered in the way of tournaments.

What would encourage you or others to play? Let us know what you want, and we will try to accommodate!

as a newer player, one issue playing tournaments I had was that I felt like I was always playing against the clock more than my opponent.. i'm not saying we should play super slow but on important decisions it would be good to have some extra time.. maybe grand final should have a longer clock or maybe offer some tournaments with a longer clock..

the only other suggestion on my end is some variance on the time's tournaments are held - im on Australian time so usually impossible for me to play - as the tournaments end up being during normal business hours down under. Im assuming most people are in the northern hemphisphere though...

lastly it would be cool to have some larger tournaments, I'm not sure if that's happening yet already though

**one crazy idea that would be cool is multi-game tournaments, 1 round of backgammon / 1 round of gin rummy or something no idea how it would work though

Maybe $1 tournaments would attract more players? I think turnout is pretty good for the free tournaments. Perhaps folks see $5 as too big of a jump.

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!. According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!).   The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
